I began with this project with one idea in mind. Make a cool sign for my cousin who got into the University of Washington, the alma mater of my wife and I. One of the biggest problems I came across when milling this out was getting rid of the milling lines. How, oh how could I get rid of them. They seemed so fine yet a few hours of sanding had little to no effect. Once I was able to get this worked out, I determined that the easiest way to get through this was to have high quality birch ply to help with the engraving process. One of our favorite things about this piece are the mild shadows it casts under various light conditions. If you have any questions, feel free to reach out at anytime.
